Paula McDermid, Owner

Paula McDermid is a registered 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher & Rainbow Kids Yoga Certified Teacher, with over 1200 hours of total training in yoga and movement programs most notably from Princeton University. Paula teaches light, creative and energetic classes that combine movement with breath, expression, and a bit of humour. With influences from yin, restorative and thai yoga massage, it all blends together for a unique kind of bliss. 

After almost ten years in the financial and health industries, and some time off for three children born 15 months apart (figure that out), she decided in order to return to work she had to be doing something that inspired her and fed her soul. She opened a business specializing in music, movement and art for young children which quickly morphed into classes for the entire family. Soon after, she found herself in yoga teacher training. 

Her classes focus on sensing the energy of the room, and cultivating a deep connection between body, mind, and breath in order to deepen our practices and our mindfulness. She is equal parts crazy-artist-energy-healer and down-to-earth, heart on her sleeve, mom of three. She encourages everyone to find the practice that is right for them in order to realize their own path to self-discovery and personal transformation. 

Her mission is to make the practice and benefits of yoga easy, affordable, and accessible to anyone who wishes to practice. Having been diagnosed with fibromyalgia she believes that yoga offers a wealth of benefits that everyone should have a chance to explore and to be the best they can be even through their physical limitations. 

When not on the mat, you can find her in art studios painting, practicing reiki, or more likely with three children and two dogs crawling all over her while she tries to practice yoga at home.

Lissa Joanis

 Lissa is one of the nicest, warmest, upbeat and not to mention strongest women around. Her yoga is kick ass, her energy intoxicating and flow is chill. To feel alive, rejuvenated and ready to take on the world with your inner child and outward goddess, enjoy a class with Lissa.




Francis Seale

Francis is a free spirit bringing her beautiful interpretation of the world with her wherever she goes. Her smile and intoxicating energy will have you feeling like you can win the world.  Her yoga is for anyone! The energy of the classes is laid back and welcoming - a no judgment zone. Her classes offers a little bit of everything. Breathing, stretching, strengthening, relaxing, and most importantly, smiling.




Mylene Lacroix

Mylene Lacroix is one badass awesome yogi. When she's not answering emergency phone calls, or knitting the most beautiful designs or travelling the world she somehow finds time to teach yoga. You can find her at Renew Lifestyle Studio or on occasion being the yoga teacher savior right here at Love Yoga! She's gaining a following fast due to her kick-ass style, great big smile and incredible way of reaching everyone in the room.  If you're lucky you may even get into her restorative class!

Farhana Meghji

The soothing voice and comforting confidence of long time yoga teacher Farhana may be enough to zen you out but she also happens to lead you through an impressive class too. Farhana can be found teaching Restorative and Hatha classes anytime we can get her! She's the epitome of chill and cool and you'll get lost in her class and end up melted on your mat after savasana!  We're so blessed to have her.

Alyssa Baird-Payette

Alyssa's teaching style is calm, collected and organized with an ease and attention to what feels good in the body.  This mom of two, restauranteur and all around busy lady finds zen and solace in teaching yoga...and you'll absolutely feel it when we attend her classes! With a focus on mobility and strength you'll find yourself enjoying yourself so much you've forgotten that she's found muscles you didn't know you had! 





Devon Lowe

Devon trained at Rama Lotus Yoga in Ottawa which is well known for it's incredible instruction and attention to detail. Her teaching style is chill, easy to follow and fun to do. She's new to teaching but her practice is crazy strong and desire to help students is visible is every class, you'll fall in love with her.  She's got a great playlist too!

Jen Perkins

Jen brings an openness of mind and spirit to her classes with her sunny personality. She is authentic, and fluid in her way of teaching people not poses. She encourages you to explore and grow in your own practice.

Stephanie Munafo

Stephanie has a passion for learning almost as much as a passion for teaching! Her day job has her teaching little ones and every once in a while we steal her away to teach yoga! She's well versed in self-massage and yoga tune-up and lucky for us keeps getting more certifications that we can enjoy her knowledge of movement and body!

Melanie Lapointe

Melanie is a natural at creating a soothing and comfortable class. She guides the class effortlessly and easily through a fun, easy to follow and calming class. Trained with a mix of yoga, pilates, and strength influencing her style she's found her own style and voice. When's she not running a fabulously hip restaurant you can find her here.
